Izzy fizzles and other news

Last night, the Northeast was hit by the second Winter storm of the season – “Isabel” (honestly, I thought The Weather Channel had dropped that silly “naming Winter storms” thing years ago) dumping just over 2” of snow over downtown Baltimore before changing over to rain by 11pm. This meant, when I woke up at 11am, all trace of precipitation was completely gone.

Unfortunately, after a minor warm-up for the next two days, it’s supposed to come back on Thursday and again on Saturday. Curse you, Winter!

Thankfully, one of my friends posted an article about Sarasota. No snow AND it’s a direct flight from BWI to SRQ. However, as much as I’d love to get out of the apartment for a week or so, the question is:

Would I be doing it for me… or two, maybe three “likes” it might get on my photo blog?

It hurts me to say this, but the answer is clearly the latter.

That makes the decision to close it easier as, even before my move last Summer, I’ve viewed it as a sort of “necessary relic.” However, it doesn’t tell me what I’m going to replace it with – moving north just to take more “boring background pictures” (ouch) is simply more of the same just with a smaller “office.”

I’d love to have a space where I can upload my art and writing, like those drawings from Disney/Pokémon “Art Academy” for the 3DS (the exact same game – with the exact same flaws – just with slightly different subject matter). Plus, I can post art and museum reviews… but where would my photos go?
